All these collies hold a special place in my heart. Most of them are gone to Rainbow Bridge and will be missed until we meet again. Rest in peace my beloved collies .

Please take me inside when it is cold and wet, for I am a domesticated animal, no longer accustomed to bitter elements. I ask no greater glory that the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth.
Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst.
Feed me clean food that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life, should your life be in danger.

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. Dear Sandi,
It is with great sadness I write to tell you that Daisy is no longer with us.
She was a beautiful faithful companion to us for over 12 years. She came to
us from Jan @ Candray when she was about 9 months old. She was a fantastic dog
and we'll miss her very much. She was our first dog. She was kind and gentle
and very loving. I noticed you have a memorial site, and sometimes post memorials
for collies that are not Glasgowhill Collies. Here's a photo of her at a beach
we go to on the Cape. This was taken about 6 years ago. We loved her dearly.Bonus
Glasgowhill's Unforeseen Bonus will miss his companion also. He's doing very
well. He's helping us through this difficult time. Thank you for sending him
to us.

Dear Sandi:
Thank you for offering to put a memorial to our "Skye" on your web
site even though she is not a Glasgowhill puppy. We are however, parents of
two beautiful Glasgowhill Collie girls ("She's a Keeper" (Keeper)
and "Double Trouble" -Trouble (co-owned with you).
We had just lost our beloved Collie "Breeze 2" (our our 4th collie
since we were married in 1971) back in the early summer of 1994, when we spent
that whole day searching South Western Ontario for a new baby to help heal our
hearts at the loss of Breeze. Nearing the closing of that day and almost giving
up, we saw an ad in Dogs in Canada about a tri-collie pup still available from
a family run kennel outside of Guelph. We drove there and found a lovely home
with about 6 collies lounging around the pool in the backyard. Inside in a kennel
were 2 tri pups and one was our little Skye to be...we just knew right away.
Skye was smaller than all our other collies but she could run like the wind.
She could run the length of 2 acres & back in less than a minute or so.
She never licked, only gave "butterfly kisses". If you didn't pay
her attention she'd lift her paw and nudge it against your arm or leg to say
"give me some attention". She loved to sit and cuddle in our big green
chair with me or my husband Bill or all of us together as we watch TV. When
my elderly father came to live with us 3 years ago, she never left his bedroom
door at night and would get very upset if she couldn't guard and sleep on the
floor by Grandpa's bed. She always circled her food dish at least 5 times before
eating and before laying down she always had to circle and then root the spot
to make it comfortable. She was a quiet dog when in the house and when she got
near you she would look deep into your eyes and never look away..you were captured
by her gaze. She hated being brushed and was very sensitive. After a bath in
the kiddy pool outside she would love to run and roll in the grass or play "bull
fight" with you as you held out a towel and she'd run towards it and into
it to get dried off. She hated fireworks and thunderstorms with a passion. She
liked to wander a bit when young if you didn't watch her and one time she wandered
up the highway and was found outside the MacDonalds restaurant looking for her
"dad" who normally took her up there most mornings in his truck. Her
very worried parents were very relieved when the dog catcher called to say he
had her. In her later years you could trust her almost 100% to never leave the
yard. For potty she would always go just to the very end of the driveway and
go in the grass. She had expensive dental surgery last Fall and we never regretted
it one minute because she had wonderful quality of life up to about a week ago.
She had gained weight, her fur was glossy and she had more strength and play
in her than she had had in months. She and Keeper would "egg" each
other on as to who could bark the best at people passing by the house or big
trucks on the highway. Even though she lost most of her hearing in the last
few years, she was so alert and did not miss a thing as far as protecting her
domain. Even up to a week ago she was jumping up to play with me when she came
in the house. Two weeks ago she developed a bladder infection. She was successfully
treated for it and then suddenly developed a bad case of the "runs".
She was on meds. We were away overnight last night and my Dad had a nurse watching
over him and Skye. Sadly the nurse called us this morning to say Skye passed
away quietly overnight outside in her kennel. She had her out for a walk late
evening and she had eaten her supper but when she checked in the morning she
was "gone". When Bill and I got home today we stopped at Glasgowhill's
to pick up Keeper and Trouble. I met Sandi with tears in my eyes and she wrapped
me in her arms and gave me a big hug. She said "don't beat yourself up"
as I was; like "my poor little girl died and we weren't there for her".
Sandi, I know, truly knows the pain when our beloved pets and family go to Rainbow
Bridge. We shared tears and I thank Sandi for her hugs and words of care and
concern. We are thankful for our many, many years with our wonderful Skye and
were privileged to have her to watch over us and our home. There truly is no
greater unconditional love and devotion than that shown by a dog and especially
in our eyes "collies" for their masters. We think we are the masters
but truly they are the masters of our hearts. Bill and I buried Skye this afternoon
in the valley below our house where she loved to run and play. God bless you
"little Peanut" and I hope some day, somehow, we can see you running
towards us through the fields once again with that "laugh" look on
your face.

Twist was a wonderful collie she came to me along with her mother Beamers Tinker Bell I bought them both for $400 twist's mom was done in a breeding program when I got her so I spayed her and put her in a wonderful home .I decided to keep twist she had prick ears so showing her was out of the question she had amazing movement good bone nice head it fit her she also had a cowlick straight up the middle of her head LOL . but I saw something special in this girl . So I decided to breed her first litter was out of Can ch Tricounty Glasgowhill Goldrush in this litter I found a beautiful sable merle girl who become Can ch Glasgowhills Little India . India was the mom to four champion kids BISS BPISS Am Can ch glasgowhill's Euphoria (Chandler)Sire to three champion kids his brother can ch Glasgowhill's codybear Tamris and sisters can ch Glasgowhill's Dia Dela Rosa mom to four champion get ,can ch Glasgowhill's Envy Of Tamris one champion kid ,Twist was then bred to Can Ch Tallywood Clarion Absolute this gave us two champion daughters can ch Glasgowhill's Langsyne Dot com Best of winners at the DC&SSA specialty under Carmen Leonard . and Can Ch Glasgowhill's Paris It sizzles Hottie was only bred once and gave us five Champion kids and three best puppy in show winners . So needless to say Twist was a great impact to out kennel but most of all she was the sweetest collie ever. She lived close to us so I saw her all the time she lived with the Kennedy family I just groomed her one month ago she still jumped into the back of the stationwagon they drove .she was light on her feet and still moved like a dream .

She was our constant companion. She hiked, fished, attended jamborees and Cub and Scout camps. She beachcombed and backpacked with us on many outings. She lay beside us all day when we were sick in bed and would not leave one of us out in the woods if the other had to come home early. Tomorrow I will start to gather up her things and get them ready to give to the SPCA. There will be empty space around us that will never be filled but her picture will stay in the hall and her memory will not fade

This is a long overdue Thank You letter, from my-self and my husband whom on
June 20\1996 purchased the most adorable,lovable,affectionate tri coloured puppy
who immediately stole our hearts and continued to do so for the next 11 years
of our lives.
Her reg no was fc338763, and she was born Feb11\1996 and her reg'd name wasGlasgowhill's
Roses Are Forever but to us she was Phoeinx or Phinney for short and she was
truly a precious gift to us both.
She was sired by Can Ch Candray Cavaricci "Marc" and dam was Can Ch
Glasgowhill a Dozen Roses which I believe was called "Rosie".
She recently fell ill and after several medical attempts at locating the problem
we were faced with the results of cancer in which we both felt, along with the
vet that her time had come,keeping phinney's best interest was in our hearts
and we had her sent to Rainbow Bridge.She truly was a special friend to us and
a large part of making this house a home.
It was twice as hard to take as we had to make the same decision about 38 weeks
before as our 16 yr old sheltie Jazzy was feeling the signs of her old age.
So it is very quite in the house these days, but we know that as time passes
we will be ready to welcome another new addition to our family!
She will never be forgotten, and we just wanted you to know that she had a very
good life!

Glasgowhill's Bed Of Roses

Dear Sandy,
I want to thank you for blessing us with the most beautiful dog we have ever
had. Sierra was a very important part of our lives as her calm loving ways helped
us through the loss of parents and the boys leaving home. She was truly a special
gift that we will cherish forever.
Sierra was with us for 11 years and passed away on Monday, April 9,2007 due
to a brain tumor. She was never ill a day in her life until the morning of April
4,2007 when she suffered a seizure and then approximately a 1/2 hour later another,
by the time we were able to get to the hospital ( less than 25 minutes) she
appeared to be having one right after the other. The Vets were able to save
her but through intense examination and blood work determined that she had a
brain tumor. She was left temporarily blind from the large amounts of medications
and very limp in her hind quarter. We did not get an MRI done as the Vet said
that it was very traumatic for a dog of her age. We were advised to take her
home and enjoy her as much as we could. The symptoms / test indicated to the
Vets that she might have a month or two at the very most. When Sierra came home
she was very uneasy and paced until exhaustion. She was unable to go up and
down the stairs without assistance as her back legs could not support her weight,
plus she was constantly thirsty causing incontinence. On Monday at our request
we went to the Vet so he could take another look at her and maybe suggest something
to put her at ease as the steroids and medication did not seem to be working,
but he could not do anything as the brain tumor was putting pressure on her
brain causing her to want to go forward. As per our discussion with the Vet
regarding Sierra he agreed that she was definitely in distress and that perhaps
we should make a decision. It was only going to go down hill from here. Marten
and I did not want to have our beloved Sierra in pain any more so we agreed
to end her misery. However, we are still struggling with our decision as we
wanted her to stay with us as long as possible but it would be due to our own
selfishness and not for what was best for Sierra.
I am writing you as I know that Sierra held a special place in your heart and
we thought that you should know. Marten and I both agree that you breed the
most healthy loving animals with impeccable personalities and perhaps someday
when the pain of the loss of our dog subsides we will want to try another. That
is if it would be alright with you.

Sassie lived with her family without a health issue all her life she is now gone to the rainbow bride .The Labelle Family is now the new owners of Glasgowhill's Lion Heart a beautiful Tri boy named Zeus We at Glasgowhill join with the Labelle Family in the loss of Sassie Rest in pease sweet girl
